As the number of readers of Liberal Democrat Newswire continues to grow, so too do its costs. Would you join with other kind readers and make a small donation to help cover the costs of what Tim Farron calls “a must read”?
It would be great if you could – and there are two easy options for doing this below.
Patreon (preferred option)
You can sign up to make a small monthly donation via Patreon.
This is a really convenient, low admin service for supporting writing (or other creative work). As it’s based in the US, donations are in US dollars but the administration charges Patreon take are lower than those for PayPal, which is why this is the preferred option.
If you’d prefer to make a donation directly in British pounds instead, there’s PayPal. You don’t have to have a PayPal account to use this – when you click the Subscribe button, there’s an option “Don’t have a PayPal account? Pay using your debit or credit card”.
Cheque or bank transfer
If online payments aren’t your thing, just drop me an email and I can let you have details of how to send a cheque or make a bank transfer.
Donations made to Liberal Democrat Newswire are counted as donations to a regulated donee (Mark Pack, a member of a registered political party) under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. If you make a donation of more than £500 then, aside from much gratitude, I may have to ask for further information, such as whether you are on the UK electoral register, before formally accepting the donation. Any donation of more than £1,500 has to be declared to the Electoral Commission.
